Coffee Consultant & Gastronomy Author

Cenk was born in Istanbul in 1980. After education, he started his working life at Unilever company, and after working in sales and organization, he entered the coffee industry in 2003 with the founding team of Egro Coffee Systems. He expanded his organizational structure by working as a sales manager and coffee trainer for 4 years, contributed to the development of coffee and coffee roasting trainings he received domestically and internationally, and started to train coffee lovers and baristas in the sector. He served as manager and General Coordinator in the Turkish establishments of Italian Caffe Vergnano and Italian Lavazza coffee companies, respectively, and strengthened his barista training with intensive new training and certificates.

In 2010, he joined the management of the 90-year-old family company and expanded his coffee roasting, special blends creation and private label coffee production line with his registered brand "Albero del Caffe" . Since this year, it has become the solution partner of many chain stores and coffee brands with the coffee machine distributorships it has received from abroad. Currently, the family company continues its activities in the out-of-home consumption and retail markets professionally with its proactive coffee roasting and coffee solution structure.

In 2016, he published Turkey's first and only coffee biography book, "From Coffee-Soil to Cup", which took 6 years to write. The book continues to be on the shelves with its 14th edition as of 2024 . With the copyright agreement signed in the second half of 2017, the book was put on the shelves in the Far East market in Chinese in May 2019 by China Light Industry Press, one of China's largest publishers, and sales continue with the 2nd Edition. In 2020, it took its place on American and European shelves in English under the name "Coffee-From The Soil to The Cup".

At the beginning of 2017, the book was deemed worthy of the "Turkey's Best Coffee Book" award by the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards , which is considered the Oscar of book awards, and was shortlisted to represent Turkey as a Finalist in the "Best in the World" World Championship in May. e was chosen. At the Final Award Ceremony held in Yantai, China, on May 27, 2017, it was deemed worthy of the "Best in the World" award, leaving 7 finalist countries behind. This award, the largest and most prestigious in gastronomy books, was given to Turkey with great pride for the first time in the field of coffee.

In 2018, it won the "BK Interior Design" - 2018 Best Book Interior Design award from the Independent Press Awards , one of America's most prestigious book awards , and was also awarded by the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards on
behalf of the book "Coffee-From Soil to Cup" with the Chinese Publishing House China Light Industry Press. It was awarded the 2020 Winner “Foreign Rights Seller” award.

His second book , "Coffee - From Cup to Taste", was published in September 2018 . It starts with the place of coffee in the Ottoman Culture and the details of Turkish Coffee, shares the original recipes of the world's traditional coffees and the authentic foods eaten with them, and emphasizes the taste with Cupping (Coffee Tasting). While there is a special section inside where you can cup with the Tasting Wheel and Tasting Form, created by Cenk R. Girginol to suit the Turkish palate, and keep it as a delicious memory in your book, the book's special coffee side recipe of Turkey's five famous chefs is also presented to coffee lovers as a surprise. His second book, "From Coffee-Cup to Taste", was deemed worthy of the 2019-Turkey's Best Coffee Book - Winner award for the second time by the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, the Oscar of the book awards announced in October 2018 , and was selected to the Shortlist (Final List) where 12 countries could enter. He represented Turkey and won the "2019- Best in the World" award for the 2ND TIME with his new book.
In 2020, in the Best of the Best evaluation of the last 25 years covering the years 1995-2020, Turkey won the "The Best of the Best" award in the coffee category with Coffee-From The Soil to The Cup, the English version of the first book. With this award, the book was exhibited for 1 year, along with the world's most prestigious books, as The Best of The Best, at the Björkborn Mansion, also known as the Alfred Nobels House, in Sweden, representing Turkey.

In October 2020; His 3rd book, “Ahde Vefa – A Turkish Coffee Story”, met with the readers as an extraordinary work telling about Turkish Coffee from A to Z. In the work, which covers Turkish coffee from history, culture, recipes and art, with a mini exhibition of Hasan Kale, whose cover was specially designed by the world-famous microart artist Hasan Kale, and which includes unique works of microart art on coffee beans; Prof. dr. Important names such as Emine Gürsoy Naskali, Associate Professor İlkay Gök, Famous Photographer Koray Kasap, and Gastronomy Gourmet Vedat Milor also made great contributions.

With his coffee articles in the Coffee magazine affiliated with the Gastrofests group, one of the most important publications in the field of gastronomy in Turkey, and in his column in the Lezzet magazine affiliated with the Doğan Burda Group; He continues to meet with coffee lovers in the name of coffee, with the intense interest of coffee lovers, in television and radio programs in which he participates as a guest.
Apart from gastronomy writing, his main line of business and area of expertise is working for important brands and coffee organizations at home and abroad; He serves as a "Professional Coffee Consultant " , providing services from brand establishments to development, from training to strategic business development and R&D .

Cenk R. Girginol, who also works as a Lecturer in the Department of Gastronomy at Okan University, with his "Coffee Science and Applications" course, which is implemented for the first and only time in a university in Turkey, gives regular coffee talks at Mesa Larga Atölye and special events in Ataşehir. continues its workshop activities.

Cenk R. Girginol is a Board Member of the Turkish Coffee Culture and Research Association and a Congress Member of the Fenerbahçe Sports Club.
