Compete in Five Prestigious Categories

Refers to any equipment/supplies that are automated, adding high-tech convenience to the commercial kitchen space. Entries may possess one or more of a range of assets such as assisting waste reduction/waste sorting, allowing users to measure and monitor the cooking process, offering self-cleaning technology, enabling healthier/tailored cooking results, enabling automatic shut-off to prevent risk of fire. Essentially saving energy, water and/or other resources.

May include but not restricted to: smart blenders, smart boilers, smart dishwashers, smart cooking stations, smart fridges, smart grills or fryers, smart ovens, smart steamers, smart weighing scales and others such as smart coffee makers and kettles.

Additional criteria

  • Integration of Technology   
  • Internet of Things – from coffee makers to ovens
  • Programmable equipment for more automated / AI cooking processes
  • Conserve energy or water

Refers to the integration of advanced technologies and systems in customer-facing operations within the hospitality industry. This innovation aims to enhance efficiency, personalise interactions, streamline processes, and optimise resource management, ultimately improving customer experience and operational performance.

May include but not restricted to such self-service kiosks, AI and chatbots for handling customer orders, digital & interactive menus, automated inventory management, and augmented or virtual reality menus, tabletop ordering systems.

  • Optimise resource management

Refers to tableware & furnishing serving equipment including portable products, tableware, cutlery/silverware, tabletop equipment, Porcelain / Earthenware/ Chinaware, Glassware / Crystal ware, trolleys, serveware or serving tools and others such as linen & fabrics and table accessories.

Additional criteria

  • Elevated tableware and serving ware that up the aesthetic for a trendier customer base
  • Innovative Design
  • Ergonomic, lightweight or cleverly designed equipment
  • Demonstration of innovation and creativity of the product

Refers to any coffee machinery or accessories such as Coffee Roasters, Coffee Machines, Roasters, Brewing, Espresso and Roasting Equipment and others such as Juices & Smoothie makers, Teaware and serving equipment.

Additional criteria

  • Better and Cost efficient Technology
  • Coffee dispensers and barware that enable speciality beverage trends
  • Internet of Things
  • Equipment and supplies that greatly reduce time spent on cleaning and maintenance
  • Ergonomics

Refers to any supplier with a sustainable edge and their active contribution to green living or practices that help conserve resources like raw materials, water and energy. Product categories may include but is not restricted to- Tableware, Fryers, Ovens, Filters, Grey Water Filtration, Dishwashers, storage, other kitchen equipments and coffee makers.

JUDGING CRITERIA

Entries are evaluated based on design innovation, creativity, market impact, client satisfaction, and sustainability efforts. Criteria include energy, water, and waste-saving features, making these awards a benchmark for industry excellence.

  • Project design and description of the equipment or product
  • Demonstration of innovation and creativity of the product
  • Business strategy, positioning, project challenges and impact within the marketplace along with financial and sales performance against expectations
  • Brand retention, client satisfaction, third-party client and stakeholder feedback
  • Evidence of successful marketing and PR communication programme
  • For smart or sustainable equipment submissions:
    • What are the energy/waste/water/labour saving features?
    • How does it save these?
    • What are the savings compared to?
  • Entries can be from a brand new product, re-launch of an established product or a launch of an innovative initiative
  • Entries of products launched/re-launched strictly between September 2023 and July 2024 would be accepted.
